Sure, it’s a commendable drive to cover rural India.

Hope private companies also follow the suit.

Wow! that’s a great news. Now the rural people with little income can also afford for a BSNL landline. Rs 20 per month is too little in todays economy.

What’s the problem whether it is out of the cometition or anything, but that’s going to help people. And I appreciate this effort and capability of BSNL to give phon connection at only 20 Rs per month. There are many interior areas in India will poor folks, so I hope it can be of great benifit to them.

Hmmm... village-dwellers get a phone installed for 20 bucks a month, and then make a gazillion calls in euphoria and end up in jail for non payment of dues!!! Great plan BSNL!!!

Nothing will become of such happy schemes unless they also slash call rates with it!!

I really appreciate the way you weigh pros and cons. I never thought about such immense implications resulting out of nowhere.

BSNL offers Rs. 20/month tariff for villagers; Ensures all facilities in Prison

It would have been a uniquely nice heading.

And the BSNL folks who come to install landlines charge ten times the amount as tips!!
BSNL needs to provide better service as well to compete with private providers.
