The split line with CPM is quite visible now. All communists groups are prone to ending themselves by splitting.
If CPM does split, then’s it will be beginning of their end in WB and national politics.

They’ve been struggling since independence to find a permanent place to fix in Indian political scenario. Except WB and Kerala, they’ve been big failures.

CPM, in particular, has shown gross disrespect towards its senior leader and the disquiet over the issue is somewhat natural.

Party whip is greater god for communists and anyone defying the party becomes a villian. What is sad, how lower rank CPM leaders are showing disrespect to Somnath Chatterjee by their statements.
